I am happy to have this opportunity to provide a strong recommendation for Anastasia Ash. Her writing is professional-level quality, and her attention to detail is way above average.
I am acquainted with Mrs. Ash through Intermediate Technical Writing which I teach through the auspices of JERonline. The course focuses on document design guidelines (headings, lists, notices, graphics, tables, highlighting) which I learned and applied during my years as writer and editor at IBM-Austin. The courses also feature two writing projects - the first, instructions, and the second, a recommendation report. This way, students have experience with the two primary genres of the technical writer's work. In all of these units, Mrs. Ash performed way way above average - which was a delight to me on many different levels.
Currently, I am department chair for the Business, Government & Technical Communications department at Austin Community College. I became a technical communicator during my eleven years at IBM-Austin. During those years and since then, I have incorporated what I learned at IBM in several technical writing textbooks and the intermediate course. I am most proud of my free online textbook (https://www.prismnet.com/~hcexres/textbook/), which Mrs. Ash studied during her course with me.
Once again, I want to provide a strong recommendation for Anastasia Ash. I wish her much success, which she certainly deserves.
Sincerely,
David McMurrey, Ph.D.
